North Dorset welcomed Thatcham on Saturday in a bottom of the table battle. The home team
attacked from the off and kept Thatcham in their 22 for some considerable time but were unable
to convert the pressure into points until awarded a penalty gratefully kicked by Tom Judd, swiftly
followed by another successful penalty kick. The game ebbed and flowed for the rest of the half
the only further score being another Tom Judd penalty bringing the half time score to 9 0.
North Dorset were quick out of the blocks after the break and a strong forward drive culminated
in Dave Stickland scoring in the corner, duly converted by Tom Judd. The score now at 16 - 0
stung Thatcham into action and they scored a good converted try making it 16 - 7. North Dorset
responded to this immediately with a good move down the wing with Mitchell Pearce putting
Sean Perry over in the corner with Tom Judd once again doing the honours 23 - 7. On a roll now
North Dorset`s captain Adam Trevis made a good line break and put his brother Sam over for
a try, this time unconverted. 28 - 7. At this stage the home team became a tad complacent and
Thatcham were able to capitalise with 2 unconverted tries. North Dorset reacted with a series of
good attacks but to no avail and the score remained at 28 - 17 at the final whistle.
