On Friday evening 25th October North Dorset 2`s entertained Salisbury 3`s in a game
played under lights and in a howling gale and torrential rain. Considering the conditions
both sides played pretty well with Salisbury dominating the first 10 minutes but failing to
score. North Dorset then upped their game but sadly their only scoring opportunity
resulted in a knock-on over the line. Salisbury kicked a penalty just before half time to
go in at the break 3 points ahead..
Ten minutes into the 2nd half after a period of sustained pressure Dorset scored a converted try thanks to Rob "Moley" Morris
giving a score line of 7 - 3. The game ebbed and flowed until 30 minutes into the 2nd half
a Salisbury player was red carded after which North Dorset pressed hard until they were
rewarded with a drop goal from skipper Danny Hill, as the final play of the game. Final score 10 - 3 . The game was
watched by a large number of home and away supporters who braved the weather to the end.
