This week’s home match for the U14s, against Bournemouth, was marked by a valiant sporting attitude, throughout the game. The first half saw a number of early injuries, with the subs stepping up and playing for the duration, yet despite the shaky start, there was a number of good tackles and close attempts at tries. At halftime, the score was 15-0 to Bournemouth. The further injury led to a change of pitch, during the second half, but not before Sid Moore scored a first-class try, buoyed by which, North Dorset played on with determination, during a half which saw some good runs by Sam McConnell and Rares Nicoara. After a score of 35-5 to Bournemouth, the lads could have called it a day, but they showed real grit, by electing to continue to play on, despite being down to minimal numbers. This Remembrance Day match may not have been a win for North Dorset, but our U14s showed the spirit of the occasion, with their resolve and dogged perseverance.
