North Dorset versus Lytchett Minster today.  Blessed with perfect weather and the honour of playing on the 1st team pitch, the team came out roaring, scoring quickly in succession.  From there they never looked back, the game ending 50-15.

The team moved the ball quickly up and down the line, spreading the defence and creating space for running forward.  Drawing in opponents with successful direct forays up the middle made for fertile ground for quick and accurate passes into the opponents’ weak areas.  Rohan Clements encapsulated this strategy with at least 3 perfect draw and pass runs that led to tries. George Dimmack was unstoppable on the outside run, scoring 5 tries for his team.  The sure hands and a turn of speed saw Alfie Bourne intercept a Minster pass and run it back for a try.  Bolstered by his recent recognition as Most Improved Player, Angus Cuthbert scored one and earned an assist by gentlemanly offloading the ball to his team mate Billy Smith who was following closely behind, his first score this season.  Charlie Philipps made the most of a good pass and put in a focussed run to the try line.

The final score was made by the tenacious Rafael Van Eijk who in a quick and cheeky move which surprised both friend and foe alike, ran past them all for the final score.  Our running up the middle was steady, and here Tyler Mason should receive an honourable mention for putting in his best performance of the season with a number of punishing, pounding runs.  Our pack dominated throughout.  However many the tries, our defence was sterling in places, with a number of very good, hard tackles.  These, along with a number of ball stripping actions made for a fumble feast which certainly frustrated our visitors.  They really had no answer!
