Trowbridge RFC

14 - 49

(HT 0-0)

North Dorset RFC

North Dorset 1 st XV travelled to Trowbridge to take on their second team. North Dorset started
with the wind and knew they had to get a good first half lead. North started- strongly with their
points scoring through a Sam Jones penalty goal followed by back-to-back tries to Henry Barron,
fullback Sam Jones poached a try from the back of a rolling maul before Tom Hooper crossed
the line showing great spatial awareness to touch down by placing the ball over his head, so that
North Dorset went to the break with 29 unanswered points.
Against the wind north had to make ground via ball in hand and strong carries from Adam & Sam
Trevis, Tom Spinney & David Stickland set a great platform. Brandon Ward finished a great
movement early in the half to pick up a try before Barron crossed for his hat-trick. A lapse in
concentration saw Austin Reed for Trowbridge cross from a penalty restart, which sharpened
North’s mind. Sean Perry finished of a Sam Trevis break to continue North’s try scoring before
Sam Stinton crossed the white wash to finish off North Dorset’s scoring. Trowbridge crossed for
a final consolation try on the close of full time. Sam Trevis was busy all day and pipped 3 try
hero Henry Barron to the Gritchie Brewing Man of the Match. Sam Jones won the William Dujour
Shield for his try.
