North Dorset 1st XV took on Combe Down at home in a fixture that was always going to be a tough affair. North accounted for Combe Down in the 1st round in a stunning 26-0 display which belittled the Bath based side, so they were always going to be keen to settle the score. The visitors skipped to a 17-point lead after scoring 3 tries in the first half before Tom Spinney
crash over the line to give North their first try of the day that Tom Stewart would convert, just before the referee blew for the half. However, two more tries to Combe Down in the second
half saw the game finished off before Spinney went over for a late try to narrow margin, but the damage was done by this stage. Richard Miller, Brad Bignell and Henry Lunn accounted for themselves very well but it was Tom Spinney that was the Gritchie Brewing Company Man of the Match for his two tries and an early, unexpected switch to tight head.
